In Stitches is to provide
art resources and
leadership to churches, so that
they might engage the visual arts in their ministries.

Soon
after its founding, In Stitches began to
collaborate with churches to design and create
custom artwork for special celebrations and mission directions. Consultations
designed to help church leaders think theologically and aesthetically about
their buildings, and to configure new spaces for ministry and worship, continue
to be an added focus for In Stitches'
collaborations.
Using
the language of the arts we develop multi-sensory and
interactive experiences for conference and plenary
gatherings -
national, regional, and local.
We provide leadership for workshops and
retreats, which integrates the visual arts
into study, reflection, and worship. . .
In
Stitches began in a fabric art studio where
liturgical stoles, paraments and banners are intricately designed, contemporary
and traditional needle arts are engaged, and art pieces are created for use in
worship.
